Salman Khan’s latest Eid offering is an official adaptation of the Korean film An Ode to My Father (a wartime drama where a man longs to see his father and sister, who have been separated from him at the time of the Korean war).

In the beginning, a heart-wrenching incident separates Bharat from his family, and then the film plunges into flashbacks that divulge interesting details about his life and how he decides to keep the promise he made to his father. The narrative is peppered with engaging anecdotes. The only glitch, there are far too many to process. Along the journey, Bharat meets some amusing people, who eventually become an integral part of the story. One such character is Vilayati (Grover) — Bharat’s best friend and confidante. The director’s approach to this part stands out. Kaif gets a meaty role, playing Kumud, the feisty and honest Madam-Sir Bharat falls for. Kaif does a decent job of being a self-assured woman and doesn’t come across as phoney.

The story of the film is a bit complex as it revolves around the journey of the protagonist that he had in several decades. No, doubt the journey is full of thrills. With the emotional content packed to the gills, the story will hold the interest of the fans for sure.

Exciting Journey

Bharat (Salman Khan) made a promise to his father who was separated during the partition period. He spends his entire life living to the promising while eventually exploring his life. The entry of Kumud (Katrina Kaif) made a pivot in his life and it takes him to the path which introduces a new level of excitement for the viewers.

Salman Khan looked great in the film no matter what age his character had. Disha Patani looked gorgeous as ever. Apart from that Katrina Kaif has probably her best acting in this one. Her character avoids that circumlocution and just nail it with her straight forward approach, those slightly messy hairs added a bit to the Khadoos personality of her character when Bharat first met her. On top of that, Sunil Grover plays the role of the best friend of Salman Khan. Well, no doubt he brings a comic appeal with his performance but he has brought something different in Bharat. He is the best supporter for Bharat and he shows what the best friends do when the push comes to the shove.
