These Bollywood Spy Movies Delivered The Right Dose of Mystery & Action
Bollywood action movies are always a
fun treat and teaming it up with a good mystery and intelligent
characters is the perfect recipe for entertainment. That’s what you get
with a well-made spy drama, which Hollywood has already mastered. We’ve
got the James Bond series, book adaptation, even spy comedies and
Bollywood isn’t too far behind either. As the upcoming John Abraham
starrer RAW is set to release, let’s take a look at some of the best
Bollywood spy movies so far –
16 December (2002)
This
film’s titular date is when Pakistan surrendered to India after the
1971 Indo-Pak war. This high stakes nail biting spy thriller showed us a
secret agency’s efforts to stop an imminent nuclear attack on India
from a terrorist group with an ensemble cast including Milind Soman, Danny Denzongpa, and more.
Agent Vinod (2012)
In this remake of the 1977 film of the same name, Saif Ali Khan’s
stars in the titular role with the same presence as James Bond, making
it an exciting watch. It is packed with action and clever spy work as
the international agent goes on a globe-trotting mission to discover why
his colleague was murdered.
Baby (2015)
This no holds barred spy film is packed with a brilliant star cast including the action star Akshay Kumar
in the lead role accompanied by Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Danny
Denzongpa, and more. The film is about the Indian covert unit Baby’s
last mission to prevent terrorist attacks in the country.
Raazi (2018)
Inspired by the true story of an Indian spy Sehmat Khan, this film is adapted from Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. This Alia Bhatt
starrer became one of the best films last year as it told the story of a
RAW agent who risks her life as an informant for India in Pakistan.
